Cedric Bastiaans

Cedric was a retired engineering scientist with 34 years of research and development experience in telecommunications, audio, acoustics, materials, phonograph disk and magnetic recording.

He received my education in the Netherlands, where from 1957 to 1963, he was manager of the Electro-Mechanical Lab of Philips Phonographic Industries in Baarn, birthplace of the compact cassette tape.

He was involved in high-speed magnetic tape duplication (5 patents), thin film magnetic data heads and hard magnetic disks.

In addition to his 3 degrees, he was a Fellow of the Audio Engineering Society.
