Update 2: Interface Zero Resistor

Those who howled at my refusal to disclose a resistor value in my Interface Zero article can calm down now. The value I use is 18 ohms, 3 watts. I still have no assurance that this is the best value, as I got mostly complaints and very little help, but that value works fine for me. Without it, the regulator will get quite hot (160 degrees) after the microdrive has been FORMATted about 5 times. With the resistor, it barely gets warm. I still don’t know if it’s large enough to cause problems if the power supply is heavily loaded though, so this resistor value may not be the final one. Come on, write and tell me about your results…

Last time I mentioned that one vendor had dropped the price of the 8K x8 RAM chips used in my AROS/LROS Developmemt Board to about $13.00. Now they’re down below nine bucks apiece. If you are looking for a good project…

Lastly, here’s a little modification to my Interface Zero circuit. The circuit will work fine without the change, but this fix is consistent with the new development that’s turned up in the quest for the “Running Those Unrunnable Spectrum

Programs”, as explained in this issue’s article by that name.
