Timex Sinclair Online User Group Meeting January 18, 2026

Date: January 18, 2026

Chris Boisvert, one of the original creators of Byte Power 1st Class Magazine, joined us. He explained how he and his brother Eric started the publication in 1986, aiming to produce high-quality content for Timex Sinclair 2068 users. Chris shared details about the magazine’s production process, including the transition from paper to digital format, and highlighted some of the programs they developed, such as games and a spreadsheet. He also discussed the technical challenges they faced and the tools they used, like the Timachine compiler.

A few years back, Adam Trionfo explored an issue of Byte Power and wrote about it on the TS 2068 Groups.io list.

We chatted about Tim Swenson’s impressive ZX-26, a 7-page newsletter for the ZX81 he created using an emulator, inspired by a 1991 newsletter by Andre Baune.

We discussed upcoming Vintage Computer Festival (VCF) events in New Jersey and Midwest, where David plans to showcase the Timex community and its history.

We also looked at Ryan’s custom calendar project for the Timex Sinclair, which uses ZX Spectrimizer to convert images into black and white.
