This unit, called the ZX99 RS 232C & Tape Control System is designed for the person needing large data-base capabilities. It provides control for four tape recorders (they must have a “remote” plug). It will allow you to save up to 200K bytes on one C-90 cassette tape. Further, it gives you a visual indication of the status of each tape. The system’s built-in software program contains many filehandling routines, such as, “Block Skip”, “Merge”, and “Search”. The unit comes equipped with a serial output which follows the standard RS 232C format. Each of the RS 232C functions are controlled by you and you may select any one of eight BAUD rates. Also, you may use any parity and stop-bit configuration.
NOTE: This is only an output and cannot be used with a modem.
