Club News

The last meeting was well attended and Fred Lewis gave a demonstration. Fred is working on a program which shows the relationship between elements in a cluster. The demonstration shows the changing orbital relationship during motion of different velocities of various elements in the cluster. Fred also had some reproductions of pictures produced by a digitizer he just bought. The pictures were very impressive for a hand held machine. I just received a letter from Paul Holmgren, the Quanta librarian in the U.S., he sent me a listing of the QL Quanta library. The library consists of 45 720k disks with about 28m of programs. games, and various other information. I am not quite sure if you have to be a member of Quanta to order disks or not. I am writing Paul to find out about this. He did mention that membership in Quanta cost about $30.00 dollars a year, this includes airmail postage of Quanta’s newsletter from England. If anyone wants any information about this give me a call.

I just received a notice in the mail about a computer fair to be held 15 July 1990 at the Polish Community Center, 225 Washington Ave Ext. in Albony. The admission is $4.50 or $3.50 with a card. We also received the final issue of the Sincus newsletter from Johnson City, N.Y., the club is going to continue to operate but won’t publish a newsletter. They are also going to open the club to MS-DOS machines. This seems to be the coming thing as the Sinclair clubs slowly die out. We wish them good luck in the future.
