# Timex/Sinclair Online User Group meeting April 24, 2022

This meeting features Jeff Mazur, author of the [Timex Sinclair 2068 Intermediate/Advanced Guide](https://www.timexsinclair.com/book/timex-sinclair-2068-intermediate-advanced-guide/). Jeff told us how he came to be a Timex author, talked a little bit about the NTSC ZX Spectrum he was sent to work from, and more. The book was slated to be published just as Timex announced they were leaving the market. Don Barnard, editor of the TSS Newsnotes, [organized a letter writing campaign](https://www.timexsinclair.com/article/editors-page/). More than 900 letters were sent, encouraging Sams to publish the book.

Ingo Schmied shows us his latest work on his own custom TS 1000 keyboard. His website, https://blog.codesurfer.dev/, has posts about his keyboard project.

David Anderson talked about [Tad Painter’s Speech Synthesizer for the 2068](https://www.timexsinclair.com/product/speech-synthesizer/), a program that plays back pre-recorded words. As it turns out, Adam was working on learning the program.
