# 2026 Vintage Computer Festival East

VCF East ran April 17–19 at the InfoAge Science and History Museums in Wall, New Jersey — a Friday pre-show followed by two public days. The 2026 theme was “Dawn of the PC.” Sixty exhibits filled eight rooms and the lobby, alongside talks, computer classes, vendors, consignment, and a hardware workshop run by GlitchWorks.

The year fell on a run of anniversaries and the exhibit list showed it. Apple turned fifty, marked in the lobby by Corey Cohen with a working Apple-1 and interactive replicas. The 6502 also turned fifty, celebrated at Andy and Kristen Geppert’s Core64 exhibit of interactive core memory. Ohio Scientific’s fiftieth drew three separate exhibits. Brian Stuart marked ENIAC’s eightieth with a simulation, an augmented reality build, and a scale model. Lee Felsenstein, who designed the Osborne 1, was in the lobby.

### The Timex/Sinclair table

The Timex/Sinclair exhibit was in Room E, run by [David](http://localhost/indiv/david-anderson/) and [Ricardo](http://localhost/indiv/ricardo-calcagno/). Ricardo came from Argentina; not his first trip to the United States, but his first VCF.

The exhibit covered the lineup from the TS1000 through the TS2068. Our working TS1000 in a [Kradle](http://localhost/product/kradle/) enclosure, the [K-2 Electronics](http://localhost/company/k-2-electronics/) upgrade that gave the ZX81 and TS1000 fifty calculator-style keys, 64K of RAM, and better tape handling. A [ZX-Wespi-V](https://github.com/holmatic/zx-iot-video) handled files and supplied VGA output, so the machine could be shown on an LCD panel rather than a television. The second was a TS2068 running a TS-Pico. Books, old magazines, and assorted material filled out the rest of the table.

Visitors were impressed by the TS-Pico. What came up more than anything else, though, was that a great many of the people who stopped at the table said the ZX81 or the TS1000 had been their first computer.

[Michael Kutzner](http://localhost/indiv/michael-kutzner/) came by with his brother to say hello. [James Cowdery](http://localhost/indiv/james-cowdery/) also stopped in, and on Saturday night he went to dinner with David and Ricardo and their wives.

### Room E

The rest of Room E was good company. Ethan Dicks had “It Came From BYTE,” with projects and Robert Tinney cover art from the magazine’s 1975 launch onward. Josh Bensadon, Walter Miraglia, Lee Hart and Jeff Brown brought RCA COSMAC 1802 machines: the VIP, the Studio II, the COSMAC ELF, the ComX 35. The Midwest Computer Museum showed the Apple II line from a replica Apple 1 forward.
