Sinclair Research was the most recognizable of a series of names for a company Clive Sinclair started to produce his many inventions. Sinclair Research marketed and sold the Sinclair ZX-80 and ZX-81 computers in the United States.

Timex Computer Corporation

Timex Computer Corporation, a subsidiary of Timex Corporation, marketed and sold the Timex/Sinclair range of computers and software. Timex Portugal, another subsidiary, continued developing, marketing and selling Timex computers after TCC left the market in 1984.

In addition to Timex Computer Corporation, more than 900 companies and individuals supported Timex/Sinclair users, producing books, magazines, newsletters, software, hardware and other accessories.
