The [Atari Computer Demonstration Center](https://forums.atariage.com/topic/372275-atari-computer-demonstration-center-store-kiosk/) was, as one might imagine, quite nice. In May 1983, Timex offered the “T/S 1000 MERCHANDISING DISPLAY,” a unit that designed to: - Fit space and selling requirements - Generate traffic - Maximize return on selling area - Reduce consumer reliance on sales * 16K RAM memory expansion module sample personnel - Create optimum visibility for T/S 1000 and all accessory products - Stimulate sales through [effective, easy demonstration](http://localhost/product/eprom-store-demonstrator/) The mechandising display unit was 36” wide by 24” deep by 6’ high. What is was not was free: retailers were expected to pay $300 for this unit. More details about the merchandising are available in the [May 1983 price list](http://localhost/document/timex-price-list-may-1983/). In two of the images below, you can make out the Timex display, packed in a much larger “Home Electronics” kiosk within a K-Mart. The demonstrator ran the program in the video below. ![TS 1000 Store Demonstrator](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/B6KrBdBUarI/maxresdefault.jpg) [![Image](http://localhost/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/the-kmart-home-electronics-department-circa-1983-1.webp)](http://localhost/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/the-kmart-home-electronics-department-circa-1983-1.webp) [![Image](http://localhost/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/the-kmart-home-electronics-department-circa-1983-2-1024x653.webp)](http://localhost/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/the-kmart-home-electronics-department-circa-1983-2.webp) [![Image](http://localhost/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Timex-Price-List-May-1983_0005-785x1024.jpg)](http://localhost/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Timex-Price-List-May-1983_0005.jpg)
